With determination and coordinated action, the Coast Guard and Hellenic Police reached a quick resolution in the case at Paleo Faliro. Vassilis Kikilias praised the methodical approach and effectiveness of the authorities in arresting the main suspect.
It should be noted that a man alerted authorities that there was the body of a small child on a beach in Paleo Faliro. After investigations, as no one was looking for the little girl, security cameras from local shops identified a woman with a stroller in the area accompanied by two other small children. They traced her route and realized she was a woman from Algeria.
At that point, the Hellenic Police took over, specifically the Directorate for Criminal Investigation and Crime Detection, monitoring her movements. Today (1/8) in the morning, when it was confirmed that the Algerian woman was preparing to leave her house in Kato Patisia, they proceeded with her arrest.
At this time, coast guard officers have taken custody of the Algerian woman and are expected to transfer her to the Flisvos Coast Guard Station for further proceedings, while following the prosecutor’s verbal order, the two boys will also be transferred to the same station, with the competent authorities handling their medical care initially and their fate as a secondary priority.
