Defense Minister Nikos Dendias visited the 355 Tactical Transport Squadron of the 112 Combat Wing at Elefsina air base on Thursday (31/7), accompanied by Air Force Chief Air Vice Marshal Dimosthenis Grigoriadis.

In a social media post, Nikos Dendias emphasized: “I was briefed on the mission and work of the 355 Tactical Transport Squadron in protecting our homeland’s natural environment and thanked the pilots and technicians of the firefighting aircraft for their daily struggle.”

At the maintenance hangar
The Defense Minister also noted that he visited the maintenance hangar and observed preventive inspection of a CL-215 aircraft.
“I was briefed by the chief and staff members on the progress of work and their tremendous effort under difficult conditions to ensure the highest possible availability of firefighting aircraft,” Nikos Dendias stated.
