Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the Civil Protection Operations and Crisis Management Coordination Center on the afternoon of Sunday, August 2, to receive a full briefing on the active wildfire fronts burning across the country. Konstantinos Tasoulas arrived at the center after first visiting the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, where he expressed his condolences over the deaths of two pilots killed in a helicopter collision near Psatha.
The Prime Minister and the President of the Republic, joined by Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Evangelos Tournas, Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou, and Minister of State Akis Skertsos, were briefed on the ongoing firefighting efforts and the battle being waged by fire crews on the ground.
