Independent MP for Thessaloniki A’ Michalis Hourdakis is expected to join the Parliamentary Group of PASOK before the end of the day, bringing the group’s total membership to 33. He will be the third independent MP to join the main opposition’s parliamentary group, as the party’s so-called “bilateral expansion” plan continues to gain momentum. Hourdakis’ formal entry into PASOK will be confirmed during a meeting with opposition leader Nikos Androulakis.

What is happening with Evangelos Apostolakis and Theodora Tzakri
At the same time, retired Admiral and independent national-list MP Evangelos Apostolakis is also moving toward joining PASOK, with reports suggesting he will run as a candidate either in Piraeus A’ or in Chania. Meanwhile, speculation about independent MP for Pella Theodora Tzakri joining the party has been reignited following a widely circulated photograph of her alongside former Prime Minister George Papandreou. However, as parapolitika.gr has previously reported, her case remains particularly complex — both due to events during the Memorandum era and because any potential membership would face obstacles related to statute changes voted on at the party’s March congress.
The surprise additions
In the coming weeks — most likely when parliament reconvenes — PASOK’s Parliamentary Group is expected to welcome several surprise additions from among the current independent MPs. Myrtо Korovesi and Giota Poulou are among those potentially in the mix, with developments expected within the next 24 to 48 hours. Also anticipated are formal announcements from former SYRIZA MP for Kastoria Olympia Teligiоridou and former MP for Serres Lefteris Avramakis. Finally, the case of SYRIZA MP for Piraeus B’ Nina G. Kasimati remains open — all signs pointing to her soon walking out of SYRIZA headquarters and making her way to PASOK’s door.
