SYRIZA’s former foreign affairs spokesperson Rena Dourou has been elected as the new president of the party’s Parliamentary Group, securing 7 votes to 1, with one ballot cast blank. The vote took place in room 150 of the Hellenic Parliament and was attended by Nikos Pappas, Christos Giannoulis, Elena Akrita, Yannis Amanatidis, Giorgos Papailou, Pavlos Polakis, Theofilos Xanthopoulos, and Rena Dourou herself.
All eyes now turn to the upcoming session of SYRIZA’s Central Committee, where Pavlos Polakis is also expected to make a statement.
Notably absent from the proceedings were former SYRIZA leader Socrates Famellos and Nina G. Kasimati.
