Greece is welcoming the appointment of Executive Vice President Raffaele Fitto as the European Commission’s Special Representative for the Cyprus issue. In an official statement, the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the move as reflecting a “strong commitment by the EU to support UN-led initiatives for a fair, viable and functional solution.”
