“The climate crisis is here and we must face it together,” was the message conveyed by Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during his meeting at Maximos Mansion with the European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib.
Specifically, Kyriakos Mitsotakis focuses primarily on the civil protection front, as both Greece and Europe face a particularly demanding fire season, highlighting government initiatives that are based on a four-pillar approach starting with the “Aegis” program, passing through prevention policies and increased funding, and culminating in strengthening human resources.
Greece advocates for the development of a common European protection policy, a policy that will go beyond national capabilities. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in his brief dialogue with the commissioner responsible for crisis management, highlighted precisely the need for Europe to stand together against the climate crisis front.
