Nearly 24 hours remain until Alexis Tsipras announces his new political party, with the former prime minister counting down the time ahead of the event for the “unveiling” of his new political movement’s name. Specifically, the former prime minister posted a countdown clock on his personal Instagram story, ahead of the event taking place at 8:00 PM on Tuesday (26/05) at Thiseio Square, where he will announce the name of his new party that aims to become an alternative force on the country’s political scene.

Alexis Tsipras: Potential names for the new party – What he will say at Thiseio
It should be noted that the former prime minister’s new political movement begins its journey with the goal of winning elections, aspiring to become an alternative force on the political scene and create a new current in Greek society.
There is intense speculation around the name that will be chosen, with the decision about what the new “player” on the political chessboard will be called having been “locked in” for more than ten days. “Compass” and “Ithaca” are the names most discussed in center-left political circles. However, no one can rule out the existence of an additional descriptive term or a choice that completely deviates from what is being discussed. After all, Alexis Tsipras has shown recently that he does not hesitate when it comes to choices characterized as “out of the box.”
Musical unveiling with Kraounakis signature
Overall, the aesthetic approach evident in the announcement preparations reveals certain specific characteristics: Alexis Tsipras’s party appears to be moving in new directions without rejecting core values! On the contrary, it will be based on combining them with modern approaches. Even the fact that the musical theme for the party announcement was created by Stamatis Kraounakis, an established composer who is always current, moves in the same direction.
The organizational team of Tsipras’s new party
Beyond aesthetics, however, organizational issues are what will determine the new movement’s operation. In particularly demanding times, with the possibility of early elections in the fall never completely “closed” despite government assurances.
The new party’s organizational team consists of experienced officials in “party building” led by Giorgos Vasiliadis, who has performed similar duties as former deputy secretary of SYRIZA. Working with him are also experienced and effective officials such as Miltos Chatzigianakis, Grigoris Theodorakis, Stelios Apostolou, Eleni Stavrakaki, Marizeta Antonopoulou, Jenny Diamantopoulou, and Dimitris Chalazonitis.
This team has been “building” the backbone of the new party for some time. This practically means operating a network that spans the entire country. With the purpose of serving every organizational need and primarily preparing for the upcoming electoral confrontation.
After all, Alexis Tsipras has never hidden that the formation will immediately seek to govern. As one can reasonably understand, the presentations of the book “Ithaca” in previous months were not merely a publishing campaign. They simultaneously provided an opportunity for “setting up” local organizations, highlighting in the speaker panels the people who will represent each region.
