Most Greek political leaders are spending Easter holidays outside Athens, along with the President of the Republic. Specifically, Konstantinos Tasoulas is in Syros, where he will attend the Epitaphios service at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Savior in Ermoupoli, while on Holy Saturday he will participate in the Resurrection service at the Holy Church of Saint John in Poseidonia.

Easter 2026: Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Chania
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is spending this year’s Easter in Chania, his ancestral homeland, together with his family. He departed for Crete on Holy Thursday, April 9th. This marks the first time since 2022 that he has chosen to celebrate the holiday there, as in previous years he traditionally traveled to Tinos.
Nikos Androulakis stays in Athens, Kyriakos Velopoulos and Sokratis Famellos in Thessaloniki
PASOK president Nikos Androulakis remains in Athens. Today, Good Friday April 10th, the opposition leader will attend the Epitaphios procession at the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas Ragavas in Plaka, while on Holy Saturday April 11th he will attend the Resurrection service at the Athens Cathedral.
SYRIZA president Sokratis Famellos has been in Thessaloniki since yesterday, while Greek Solution president Kyriakos Velopoulos traditionally spends Easter holidays in the co-capital.
Dimitris Koutsoumbas in Lamia
Finally, Communist Party General Secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas is expected to be in Lamia, his hometown, for the Easter holidays.
