Kimberly Guilfoyle’s statement
Thank you for joining us today as we mark a significant milestone in the history of defense ties between the United States and Greece. Under the leadership of Donald Trump, the United States of America is deeply committed to promoting peace through strength. In Greece I see a valuable partner in these efforts. A partner that shares our determination to defend a bold vision for the future. Our two great nations enjoy an alliance that began more than 200 years ago and continues today, stronger, deeper and more vital than ever. We are committed to ensuring we have the best, most agile, most lethal military forces in the world, ready to overcome the challenges of the future.
Today, we are bringing our alliance to a historic new level. It is my honor to officially announce that Greece will partner with the great state of Florida through the United States National Guard State Partnership Program. I want to thank President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth for their leadership and support in this investment in our shared future. I cannot think of a better partner for this collaboration than the state of Florida. The extensive coastlines of both Florida and Greece enjoy economies connected to tourism and agriculture and are on the front lines of border protection. Florida is a key player in the US aerospace and defense industries and is renowned for its excellent universities. It is also home to a thriving Greek community.
For Greece and Florida, this partnership opens new opportunities for cooperation in military, academia, commerce and society. It is truly a comprehensive partnership, built to last. This partnership means greater cooperation in areas that will make our people safer and our nations stronger. Areas such as joint military training and preparedness, maritime security, cybersecurity, infrastructure protection, natural disaster preparedness, including wildfire response and emergency planning. The US is proud to have allies like Greece. I look forward to working with Minister Dendias and my dear friend, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, to bring the alliance between our two great nations to even greater heights. God bless you. God bless Greece. And God bless the United States of America.
