“With a very brief written message, I raised with the president of OPEKEPE the case of a small livestock farmer from a village in my region. I asked him if additional documentation was needed and at the end I asked ‘if it’s possible’. In fact, the ‘possible’ was written with two question marks,” states to parapolitika.gr the former Deputy Health Minister responsible for mental health issues, Dimitris Vartzopoulos, who submitted his resignation yesterday amid the OPEKEPE case.
It is recalled that his name is included in the second and more extensive case file concerning active MPs for whom parliamentary immunity waiver is being sought.
“European prosecutors should tell us how they understand the concept of an MP,” he emphasizes, raising the following questions: “Shouldn’t an MP deal with people’s problems? Isn’t it his obligation?”.
OPEKEPE: Dimitris Vartzopoulos’ statement to parapolitika.gr
“With a very brief written message, I raised with the OPEKEPE president the case of a small livestock farmer from a village in my region. I asked him if additional documentation was needed and at the end I asked ‘if it’s possible’. In fact, the ‘possible’ was written with two question marks. Is this incitement to illegality? European prosecutors should tell us how they understand the concept of an MP. Shouldn’t an MP deal with people’s problems? Isn’t it his obligation?,” Mr. Vartzopoulos characteristically stated to parapolitika.gr.
