Here is the full text of the Prime Minister’s post:
“Greece turns the page. The time has come to explore whether nuclear energy, and specifically small modular reactors, can have a role in the Greek energy system.
We will establish a high-level ministerial committee that will submit specific proposals to the government on this issue. This is a position based on common sense. Nuclear energy is changing rapidly. There are rapid technological developments, tremendous innovation. And we know that our need for electricity will continuously increase. Regardless of how much we expand renewable energy sources, we will need long-term predictable baseload energy. No technology can compete with what nuclear energy offers us.”
