Migration and Asylum Minister Thanos Plevris expressed his concern about migration flows from Libya while speaking on Parapolitika 90.1 radio show “She and I” with Thanasis Fouskidis and Stella Gantona. Minister Plevris noted that approximately 1,300 migrants arrived in Crete within a single week, while pointing out that asylum examinations for Iranians currently housed in facilities have been frozen. He also emphasized that asylum applications with suspicious profiles potentially linked to attacks are being re-examined, adding that 1,000 deportations were carried out in February.

Furthermore, Minister Plevris emphasized that military bases operate under interstate agreements that are being upheld, and that American bases function within an existing agreement framework. According to Plevris, elections will be held near the end of the four-year term, as the Prime Minister has previously stated.

Regarding the court decision on the wiretapping case, Minister Plevris stated there is no suspicion connecting any political figure to surveillance activities.
