Successful and safe repatriation operations for a total of 277 Greek citizens and their family members from the Middle East were completed yesterday, Friday, March 6, under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As part of coordinated efforts, Greek diplomacy and relevant authorities mobilized immediately to ensure the safe return of citizens to their homeland. Specifically:
- 46 Greek citizens and their family members arrived in Athens from Oman, on a special Aegean Airlines flight, organized by the Greek Embassy in Riyadh.
- 89 Greek citizens and their family members arrived in Athens from Oman, on a special SKY express flight, organized by the Greek Embassy in Riyadh.
- Additionally, 142 Greek citizens and their family members from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates were transported to Athens on two Air Arabia flights.
It is noted that operations continue, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains fully prepared to provide all possible assistance to Greek citizens affected by the conflict situation in the broader Middle East.
