The meeting between Alexis Tsipras and members of a self-organized group reportedly supporting him in a hall at the Thessaloniki city hall on Friday afternoon, March 6, contained neither campaign speeches nor definitive answers. Clearly, from the crowd that gathered in the hall, it appears there weren’t only members of the self-organized group present, as the hall was packed. The former prime minister chose to sit with the youth, namely with the young people who reportedly support him. He is said to have hinted at a discussion that would also be directed toward his political future, as he collects opinions on how he will decide to reconstruct the progressive coalition. Along with the presentations of his book “Ithaca”, Alexis Tsipras will have meetings with members of self-organized or progressive groups, in order to find the common ground that will bring them back to his side. As Eleni Kalogeropoulou mentioned in her report, such groups were in no way connected to the former prime minister, something that gives further weight to these specific discussions.
