Alexis Tsipras informed his followers through a social media post about the alleged legal notice sent by Grigoris Dimitriadis, regarding his statements after the court ruling on the wiretapping scandal. The former prime minister had previously named them as “moral and executive perpetrators of the wiretapping.” In his post, he referred to Mr. Dimitriadis as the “prime minister’s nephew” and emphasized that he “will not remain silent,” since “this is not a personal matter, it concerns democracy itself.” Alexis Tsipras spoke about a cover-up involving himself and Kyriakos Mitsotakis, while stressing that the “regime of fear” they want to impose is “changing sides.”
Alexis Tsipras’s social media post
I was informed a short while ago that the prime minister’s nephew sent me a legal notice regarding my statements about the court decision on the wiretapping scandal.
He is essentially trying to blackmail me with lawsuits and prosecutions, as he has done with a series of journalists, in order to silence them about the double crime against democracy: The illegal wiretapping organized at Maximos Mansion by Mr. Mitsotakis and himself, as well as their cover-up, which nevertheless stumbled today on the decision of the Single-Member Criminal Court.
I therefore inform both the sender of the legal notice and his uncle that my address and details are known to them.
I await their lawsuits and prosecutions from tomorrow.
However, I will absolutely not remain silent.
Because this is not a personal matter, it concerns democracy itself.
Moreover, the regime of fear, silence and manipulation of justice that they have attempted to impose on the country is no longer unshakeable.
And fear, it is now evident, is changing sides.
