SYRIZA MP Elena Akrita launched a fierce attack on Nikos Karanikas, responding to his criticism and derogatory characterizations directed at her by the former close associate of Alexis Tsipras. Elena Akrita, in her social media post, accused Nikos Karanikas of operating in favor of Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis while making pointed remarks about his stance toward the government.
“He picked fights with Tsipras, he picked fights with Polakis, he picked fights with me. Let someone give him a little government position so Adonis’ lackey will calm down. When you’re Karanikas, the worst downfall is living with yesterday’s version of yourself. And this is the last time I’ll deal with his pathetic flesh,” the SYRIZA MP stated.
Akrita vs Karanikas: What triggered her strong reaction
Her intense reaction came following statements by Nikos Karanikas, who, in his interview on Status FM 107.7 radio, criticized her position on the Nikaia incidents and argued that SYRIZA president Sokratis Famellos should have taken disciplinary action against her.
During the same interview, the former advisor to Alexis Tsipras referred to Elena Akrita with derogatory characterizations. “Look at this influencer, one that SYRIZA has from the state list – the people didn’t vote for her. She’s someone who… I don’t want to say her name because it offends me, right? She came out and said that ‘yes, Adonis shouldn’t be allowed to go anywhere,’ the elected…” Nikos Karanikas said characteristically, who had also clashed with Pavlos Polakis on the same issue a day earlier.
When asked if by the term “influencer” he was referring to Elena Akrita, he replied: “Bravo, bravo. A moment ago you mentioned… yes, yes, bravo. You were right, this ‘thing’ said – because it’s a ‘thing.’ A human being is the result of understanding, it’s civilization. Otherwise it’s bestial and puts force, power first.”
“This thing told us that an elected minister in an elected government that has a program with which it was elected and I disagree, we shouldn’t allow him to go anywhere,” Nikos Karanikas also said in his interview, noting that these are dangerous views for which Sokratis Famellos should have expelled her.
