No government official met with envoys of American President Donald Trump, sources from the Maximos Mansion confirmed after reports emerged about a visit by Trump associates to Greece.
“The briefing from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is that this particular visit was a private visit to the US Ambassador to Greece. No meeting took place, neither with top government officials, nor with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis as was mentioned somewhere – there is nothing of the sort,” government sources stated.
From Maximos Mansion they added: “There has been absolutely no intervention, neither formal nor informal, from the US towards the Greek Government regarding Greek-Turkish relations.”
