Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the HORECA 2026 exhibition, taking place at Metropolitan Expo, focusing on the hospitality and catering sectors. The Prime Minister toured the exhibition pavilions and spoke with professionals, exhibitors and visitors about emerging trends in the tourism market, the sector’s upward trajectory, and the connection between tourism success and the gastronomic experiences Greece offers, thanks to quality local products integrated into the supply chain.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis had the opportunity to learn about exhibitors’ products and equipment used by professionals, as well as watch part of the coffee championship being held within the framework of the exhibition.
Mitsotakis: There is optimism for the next tourist season
Concluding his visit, the Prime Minister stated: “HORECA is a reference point exhibition for Greek tourism, but also for the many Greek companies that supply infrastructure and products to keep our tourism in continuous development.
I’m pleased because I saw many people, I saw many smiles. There is optimism for the next tourist season as well. I think HORECA’s atmosphere reflects an economy that is growing, with entrepreneurs who understand there is political stability so they can continue to invest, create jobs, and increase wages.
Once again, congratulations on organizing this excellent exhibition, and I hope the very high attendance is indicative of another exceptional tourist year that begins soon.”
For his part, Thanasis Panagoulias, CEO of FORUM company that organizes the exhibition, noted: “I sincerely thank the Prime Minister for honoring us today with his presence at HORECA. But he doesn’t just honor the HORECA exhibition, he honors the entire tourism sector that has visited today, not only from Greece but from the broader Balkans region and southeastern Europe. A brilliant exhibition worthy of the country’s tourism and hospitality sector.
I thank him from the heart and I think he clearly sees the expectation that exists for the coming year.”
