And so the Democratic Alliance and Expansion Committee was born. PASOK through historic party member Kostas Skandalidis announced the first “batch” of figures returning to Charilaou Trikoupi street.

Among them are figures who served as ministers in SYRIZA governments, such as Giannis Panousis and Markos Bolaris, as well as people from the arts like well-known actress Gogo Brebou. Additionally, the list includes former SYRIZA MPs Georgia Gennia and Giorgos Karagiannis, Zoe Karkoulia and Agis Tatsis, who were with SYRIZA-PS. There are also figures with modernist backgrounds such as Giannis Kalogirou, Christos Smyrlis-Liakatas and Giorgos Sakellion.
While many expected that among the names announced on Monday would be those of active MPs, this did not happen. “We don’t do face control, this is an alliance of forces” was the message sent by Mr. Skandalidis.
There will be more name announcements in the coming period, while at the March congress we may see invitations extended to figures such as Nina G. Kasimati, Evangelos Apostolakis and MEP Nikolas Farandouris.
