The strategic defense cooperation between Greece and the United States, as well as the deepening of collaboration in defense innovation, military equipment programs, and Armed Forces reform, are at the center of meetings taking place today, Tuesday, February 3, by Defense Minister Nikos Dendias in Washington. During his visit, Mr. Dendias is meeting with US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, as well as with Deputy Secretary of Defense for Policy Affairs Elbridge Colby.

The discussions focus on maintaining and further strengthening the strategic relationship between the two countries in the defense sector. According to sources from the Ministry of National Defense, the meetings are expected to address the Greece-US strategic dialogue on defense and security issues, as well as the broader environment of challenges emerging in the region. Specifically, developments and security risks in the Middle East, Black Sea, Red Sea, and North Africa will be discussed – regions of heightened geopolitical significance and direct interest to both countries.
