When asked about recent developments regarding midwives’ duties and reports they would be removed from deliveries, he stated: “There is no issue. Indeed, in a meeting at the Health Ministry between midwives and a committee, some committee members proposed a change to their job description that reduced, in their opinion, their own role and increased doctors’ role. I rejected this proposal, so there is no issue of this proposal being adopted by the health ministry, and therefore nothing changes in midwives’ job description”.
