All those operating illegal worship centers will be punished with revocation of their residence permits and deportation, emphasized the Minister of Migration and Asylum Thanos Pleyris, speaking at the Permanent Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice. As Minister Pleyris characteristically stressed, “the implementation of the law will be unwavering and residence permits of those illegally operating such spaces will be revoked.”
At the same time, he informed committee members that a deportation order has already been issued for the citizen from Bangladesh who was operating an illegal mosque in the Agios Nikolaos area of Patisia. “What happened in Agios Nikolaos will happen to all illegal worship centers and the process of sealing them has already begun,” Thanos Pleyris made clear in no uncertain terms.
