A coordination meeting of the Working Group for the preparation of the country’s electrical system ahead of the upcoming heatwave was held today (7/7), on the initiative of the Minister and Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Stavros Papastavrou and Nikos Tsafos.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of Energy and Mineral Resources, Aristotle Aivaliotes, the Vice President of the Energy Sector of RAAEU, Dimitris Fourlaris, the CEO of DEDDIE, Tasos Manos, as well as the Chairman and CEO of ADMIE, Manousos Manousakis, along with competent officials from the organizations.
Ministry of Energy and Environment: Emphasis on safety and adequacy of energy supply
As announced by the Ministry of Environment and Energy (YPEN), the Working Group has been collaborating closely since April, with the aim of preventing power supply problems through better coordination in emergency situations.
During the meeting, the current operational situation and system readiness were evaluated, while the roadmap of preventive actions for the coming weeks of summer was updated, where high temperatures are forecast. Particular emphasis was placed on the safety and adequacy of energy supply, in order to ensure network stability and protect the country from potential risks in its operation.
