A meeting between Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected in the near future, according to sources from today’s phone conversation between Greek Foreign Minister Georgios Gerapetritis and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan. The two ministers discussed a range of issues concerning the Eastern Mediterranean and Athens-Ankara relations.
Specifically, the two ministers spoke about the High-Level Cooperation Council between Greece and Turkey. While no date has been finalized yet, the intention is to hold the meeting in the immediate future, according to diplomatic sources.
During their earlier phone conversation, the two ministers primarily addressed bilateral relations between Greece and Turkey and regional developments, at a time of increased Turkish provocations in the Aegean Sea.
