Environment and Energy Minister Stavros Papastayrou is traveling to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia today, Sunday January 11, to participate in the International Ministerial Meeting on Minerals, organized by Saudi Arabia within the framework of the Future Minerals Forum 2026.
Papastayrou’s scheduled meetings
Minister Papastayrou will hold bilateral meetings with Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the country’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, with executives from major Saudi conglomerates operating internationally, including Dar Global, Quara Holding and Alireza, as well as with representatives of the Trump Organization operating in Saudi Arabia.
What is the Future Minerals Forum
The Future Minerals Forum (FMF) is organized by Saudi Arabia, aiming to shape the future of the minerals and critical metals sector globally. It is a government-backed platform dedicated to enhancing cooperation between governments, industries, investors, academics and other stakeholders, to promote responsible and resilient mineral resource supply chains.
Minister Papastayrou’s visit to Saudi Arabia is part of the government’s initiatives to develop the minerals and critical raw materials sector, as well as the necessary energy interconnections.
