Due to extreme weather conditions, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will not travel to Germany. The Greek Prime Minister had scheduled a visit to Mainz on the morning of Friday, January 9. Notably, Kyriakos Mitsotakis was to be a guest of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, within the framework of the Executive Council meeting of the ruling Christian Democratic party CDU (Klausurtagung des CDU Bundesvorstandes). He was scheduled to speak about the Greek government’s reform agenda to an audience consisting mainly of Executive Council members and prime ministers of German states from the CDU. He would have been accompanied by the Secretary for International Relations and EU of New Democracy and former deputy minister, Tasos Chatzivasiliou.
