The emergency weather deterioration bulletin from the National Meteorological Service, concerning the three-day period of January 6-8, forced the General Secretary of Civil Protection, Nikos Papaeystathiou, to convene the Risk Assessment Committee. This was announced by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, as all agencies and regions expected to be affected by the extreme phenomena need to be in operational readiness. As usually happens, the intense rainfall and storms will primarily affect the Ionian Sea. Additionally, Epirus, Aetolia-Acarnania, eastern Macedonia, Thrace, western and southern Peloponnese will be affected.
