New Year melodies and traditional dances filled Athens City Hall with Harris Doukas. From early morning, scouts and associations from various parts of Greece sang carols to Athens mayor Harris Doukas, including the Greek Scout Corps, the Cretan Folklore and Cultural Association “Apteraioi”, “Panthessalian House”, the Greek Cultural Dance Association “Diktaioi-Kastrinoi” and the Greek-Russian Friendship Club.

Mr. Doukas welcomed them and exchanged wishes. “Let 2026 be the starting point for a more humane and fair Athens,” he emphasized and added: “Together we welcome the new year. We have a date tonight at Syntagma Square, with music, dance, silent fireworks, an impressive drone show and many more surprises.”
The Athens municipality’s celebration tonight for the change of year at Syntagma Square will begin at 10 pm with the Philharmonic Orchestra. Then Kostas Maravegias and Rena Morfi will take over the festive program. The presenters will be Nikos Moutsinas and Tonia Sotiropoulou.
