The government is planning to bring a legislation blitz to Parliament this summer, with the next seven weeks seeing an intensified legislative agenda aimed at immediately implementing a series of reforms before the Prime Minister’s appearance in Thessaloniki for the International Trade Fair.
Among the upcoming bills scheduled for voting by the Plenary during the summer period is the one by Minister Makis Voridis to accelerate deportations of illegal immigrants and generally tighten the migration framework, introducing harsher penalties for those who enter the country illegally and remain while their asylum applications have been rejected. Additionally, the coming period is expected to see the establishment of a new framework by the Interior Ministry for reforming the disciplinary system for public employees.
