Days ago, PASOK through its Economic Committee Head Pavlos Geroulanos released a list of 135 projects that the government is removing from the Recovery Fund or modifying.
Speaking to Parapolitika in tomorrow’s Saturday, December 20 edition and to Yannis Politis, Mr. Geroulanos emphasizes that “we had to do painstaking work. We had to do detective work to see what these things were, which are being removed or modified in the Recovery Fund“. He also argues that “projects that were for the restoration of Thessaly are being removed, projects that had to do with civil protection are being removed“.
Pavlos Geroulanos on Parapolitika about Recovery Fund project cuts: We had to do detective work
He further adds that “what we need to understand though is that what is happening with the Recovery Fund is that it gradually appears to be becoming a Fund of lost opportunity, because when so much money comes to the country, we’re talking about an amount that the country has never received before, one expects that this together with public property, together with the tax system and together with the banking system, will work to change the country’s productive model“.
His complete statement is as follows:
“I’m not concerned with what the government will do. What concerns me and what worries me more is what will happen to Greek society and how it will affect the Greek citizen. I say this because we had to do painstaking work. We had to do detective work to find out what these things were, which are being removed or modified from the Recovery Fund. The 135 projects being modified each have a different level of modification and it takes a lot of work to catch each one to see what is being removed. Projects that were for the restoration of Thessaly are being removed, projects that had to do with civil protection are being removed. These are important issues and it’s work that we will continue to do. What we need to understand though is that what is happening with the Recovery Fund is that it gradually appears to be becoming a Fund of lost opportunity, because when so much money comes to the country, we’re talking about an amount that the country has never received before, one expects“
