New Democracy records minor losses amid the climate shaped by farmers’ protests and developments surrounding OPEKEPE, according to the latest poll by Opinion Poll. The ruling party dropped 0.5% compared to the previous month, reaching 29.7% in voting intention, while maintaining a strong 16.1-point lead over second-place PASOK, which shows substantial stagnation at 13.6%, compared to 13.7% the previous month.

Conversely, three parties appear to be strengthening in the current political climate. Greek Solution rises from 10.7% to 11.9%, Course of Freedom recovers after six months of decline, climbing from 9% to 10.1%, while the Communist Party strengthens from 8.1% to 8.6%.
SYRIZA remains stuck at low percentages, at 4.5%, compared to 4.2% the previous month and the same percentage in October. The performances of other parties are as follows: Victory 2.6% (2.5%), New Left 1.2% (stable), Voice of Reason 4.1% (from 4.5%), Democratic Movement 2.4% (from 2.7%), MéRA25 3.1% (from 3.4%), Spartans 1.2% (stable), while “Other” declines from 8.6% to 7%.





In voting intention, with all responses and valid votes respectively, percentages are: New Democracy 22% – 23.8%, PASOK 10.1% – 10.9%, Greek Solution 8.8% – 9.5%, Course of Freedom 7.5% – 10.1%, Communist Party 6.4% – 6.9%, SYRIZA 3.3% – 3.6%, Voice of Reason 3% – 3.6%, Victory 1.9% – 2.1%, Democratic Movement 1.8% – 1.9%, MéRA25 2.3% – 2.5%, New Left and Spartans at 1% each, Other 5.2% – 5.6%, Blank/Invalid 2.9% – 0%, Abstention 4.7% – 4%, while undecided voters reach 18.3% – 19.8%.


Opinion poll: What worries citizens most
Regarding the problems that concern citizens most, high prices remain by far in first place with 56.4%, as has been the case for over three years. Following are Economy and Development with 29.1%, corruption with 20.6%, Justice Administration and Rule of Law with 16.1%, energy costs with 15.2%, the state of the National Health System with 10.7%, and crime and violence with 10.1%. Lower are income levels with 8.4% and the housing crisis with 7.8%. It’s noted that corruption and justice administration issues show an upward trend, while concerns about the health system and crime decline.

It’s characteristic that to the question “What worries you most about 2026?” the top answer is continued high prices with 28.9%, “personal financial situation” with 24.9%, personal and family health with 7.4%, political instability with 7.1%, geostrategic turbulence with 5.1%, possible hot incident with Turkey with 4%, etc.

As persons of the year in Greece and abroad from Politics, Culture, Science, and Sports: D. Trump 13.6%, K. Mitsotakis 12.7%, K. Pierrakakis 9.7%, Antetokounmpo 8.8%, Maria Karystianos 7.3%, M. Tentoglou 7%, V. Putin 6.5%, A. Tsipras 5.9%, etc.

The most significant events in Greece and abroad during 2025 were: OPEKEPE Scandal 22.3%, Continuation of wars (e.g., Ukraine, bloodshed in Gaza) 18.3%, Tempi rallies 12.3%, Gaza peace agreement 12.2%, Recent Greece-USA energy agreements 5%, K. Pierrakakis’s election to Eurogroup Presidency 3.9%, etc.

OPEKEPE and farmer mobilizations
Regarding farmers’ mobilizations, 8.2% believe their demands have been satisfied and they’re wrong to close national roads, 40.7% think farmers have legitimate demands but are wrong to block roads, and 47.5% believe farmers have legitimate demands and can mobilize as they choose. This shows an overwhelming majority of about 87.5% agreeing with farmers’ demands, while 48.9% disagree with blocking national roads versus 47.5%.

73.3% don’t believe, based on government actions, that it’s determined to fully investigate the OPEKEPE scandal, versus 23.6% who believe it is determined. Among New Democracy voters, 54% believe it’s determined, while in all other parties this view is adopted by 8.3% to 20%.

Opposition, Tsipras-Samaras parties and suitability
53.1% believe no party conducts effective opposition. In the top three positions are Course of Freedom with 12.4%, Greek Solution with 10%, and PASOK with 9.4%.

9% answer it’s very likely they’d vote for Tsipras’s new party, 9.7% quite likely, 11.5% slightly likely, and 65.9% not at all.

Similarly, for a potential A. Samaras party, results are lower: 3.6% very likely, 6.9% quite likely, 10% slightly likely, and 75.7% not at all. Among New Democracy voters: 4.8% very likely, 6.3% quite likely, 10% slightly likely, and 76.3% not at all.

41.8% would prefer a single-party government, while 49.2% prefer a coalition government. The highest percentages favoring single-party government are among New Democracy voters with 70.4%, Greek Solution with 39.6%, and PASOK with 32.1%.

In prime ministerial suitability, K. Mitsotakis leads by far with 28.5% versus Zoe Konstantopoulou with 9%, K. Velopoulos with 7.5%, N. Androulakis, etc. “None” appears with 31.9%.
