For her part, Ms. Guilfoyle emphasized: “The seizures and arrests announced today represent a significant victory in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking and should serve as a warning to those who seek to do the same. On behalf of President Trump and the entire United States government, I express my deep gratitude to the Hellenic Police, the Maritime Analysis and Operations Centre, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, the French Navy, and of course, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), for their tireless efforts to break the chain of drug trafficking and enhance security at our borders and on our streets. The long-standing cooperation of the DEA with corresponding law enforcement authorities in Greece and around the world is based on close coordination and substantial information exchange. This latest seizure is proof that these efforts are bearing fruit and that we will never stop bringing drug traffickers to justice.”
