The atmosphere was explosive during the testimony of New Democracy MP Christos Boukoros at the OPEKEPE investigative committee, with Course of Freedom leader Zoe Konstantopoulou going all out. This happened because she played an excerpt from an interview the “blue” MP had given to Kontra Channel, where he had mentioned that a government source had informed him that his name appears in the OPEKEPE case file.
Mr. Boukoros insisted that he would not reveal the name of the person who informed him, while Mrs. Konstantopoulou spoke of “mutual blackmail.” The examination of the “blue” MP by the Course of Freedom leader lasted almost 50 minutes while Mrs. Konstantopoulou clashed both with the presidency that asked her to be brief and with majority MPs like Lefteris Ktistakis.
OPEKEPE Committee: Liakouli reveals employee left in tears
The atmosphere was explosive with PASOK MP Evangelia Liakouli briefly leaving room 223. When she returned, she asked to intervene and revealed that a Parliament employee spoke with her while crying and told her she was leaving because she couldn’t stand what was happening in the committee anymore. In fact, as she said, the employee grabbed her by the sleeve. At that moment the situation almost got out of control with the Course of Freedom leader launching an attack on Mrs. Liakouli and accusing her of not reporting the “blue thugs who bang their hands on the benches”.
However, tension also arose during the witness examination by Milena Apostolaki. “PASOK accuses me of favoritism for one single phone call, are you serious?” wondered Christos Boukoros, emphasizing that only for one case, that of the specific citizen, has he contacted an OPEKEPE president. “The way you seek exclusion in the conversation is extremely problematic,” Milena Apostolaki insisted.
