The ReBrain Greece initiative, held on December 7 in New York, aims to cultivate a climate of productivity and opportunities, with participation from over 30 leading Greek companies and more than 1,300 registered Greek professionals from the USA and Canada. The event, which was integrated into the government’s national plan for repatriating specialized human resources and creating a modern, competitive and stable working environment in Greece, attracted 1,527 Greeks from every corner of the USA and Canada. Emphasis was placed on tax and special professional repatriation incentives, with the key measure being a 50% reduction in income tax for seven years for those returning after at least five years of tax residence abroad.
“Our goal is twofold: On one hand, to demonstrate that today’s Greece has nothing to do with the Greece they left behind when departing in search of a better life, and on the other hand, to inform them about all the professional opportunities that the Greek job market offers today and which can constitute a strong incentive for their repatriation. The final decision belongs to them, however our duty is to showcase our country’s new face” emphasized parapolitika.gr Labor Minister Niki Kerameos, giving emphasis to the importance of attracting young people from abroad as the effort to address the wave of emigration continues.
Kerameos on ReBrain Greece: “Our compatriots sought a professional opportunity among the 500 positions offered by 35 top business groups of the country”
Regarding Rebrain Greece, Ms. Kerameos spoke of “an outward-looking action that the Ministry of Labor has been organizing over the past year now constitutes a successful institution, which has a clear purpose: informing Greeks living abroad about the significant professional opportunities that today’s Greek job market offers”.
