In her post, US Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, refers to her participation yesterday in the torch relay for the Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026.
Kimberly Guilfoyle’s message about her participation in the Olympic flame torch relay
“What a privilege to run with the Olympic flame in the torch relay yesterday beneath the Acropolis – the perfect backdrop for this timeless tradition! From Ancient Olympia to Milano Cortina 2026 (and then on to Los Angeles in 2028!), the Olympic spirit connects us all. I’m grateful to @HellenicOlympic for this truly unforgettable moment,” wrote Kimberly Guilfoyle.

It should be noted that the US Ambassador yesterday began her route to the Panathenaic Stadium from the Acropolis, where on Wednesday evening the altar had been lit by rowing Olympic gold medalist Stefanos Douskos. Shortly after 8:30 AM on Thursday, Kimberly Guilfoyle, wearing the special torch relay uniform with cap and gloves, received the Flame in front of the Acropolis Museum on Dionysiou Areopagitou street. The torch was handed to her by the Secretary General of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and Olympian in sailing at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, Stefanos Chandakas.
