The 22-year-old Roma man appeared harsh and uncooperative to police officers. He is accused of robbing and brutally beating an elderly couple with unprecedented violence, along with another accomplice, to force them to reveal where they hid their money. The 22-year-old regularly updated his followers on TikTok about his successful workout methods at a gym in Tripoli, posting videos and photos of his fitness routines.
Even while imprisoned, from which he was released just this summer, he exercised daily. However, he apparently couldn’t control his temper. For this reason, on the night of November 22nd, he brutally attacked an elderly couple inside their home in the village of Kerasitsa – specifically two helpless siblings: an 82-year-old woman and her 74-year-old brother. According to the victims’ testimony, who suffered multiple injuries to various parts of their bodies, the 22-year-old acted like “a maniac“. He initially found some money but wanted more, which is why he reportedly beat the elderly victims. Eventually, together with his 48-year-old accomplice, after finding 4,800 euros and gold jewelry, they disappeared. Before fleeing, they told the elderly couple that if they spoke to police, they would return to find and kill them. The truth was revealed two days later when a woman who had undertaken their care went to their house and found them in a terrible condition – covered in bruises, wounds, cuts on their heads, necks, and torsos.

The woman called the police, who immediately understood who they were dealing with based on the elderly victims’ descriptions. The two Roma men were completely uncooperative, but the elderly victims identified them without hesitation. The 22-year-old had been released from prison this summer after serving time for previous robberies. He is known for his “extensive” criminal behavior, according to police officers who participated in the investigations. He may have been under the influence of substances, police estimate, as they investigate the possibility that this pair of violent criminals may be hiding behind other robbery attacks in the broader area.
The 74-year-old is in good health. In contrast, the 82-year-old was rushed to Tripoli hospital, where extensive bruises, abrasions and a hip fracture were diagnosed, requiring successful surgical intervention. Tragic irony? The 74-year-old went to visit his sister at the moment when the perpetrators had already immobilized her and became a victim of their unprecedented violence himself. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
