The criminal past of the 29-year-old who brutally beat a 58-year-old man to death in Neos Kosmos over a traffic dispute appears to be extensive. A new video document revealed by a Mega TV show presents yet another murderous attack by the 29-year-old at a store in June 2023. He was well-known to authorities, having been arrested 8 times in the last three years and receiving 17 convictions, most for assault cases. Sources indicate that authorities were aware of the young man’s dangerous behavior, but many of his attacks were classified as misdemeanors rather than felonies, allowing him to remain free.
Neos Kosmos: “He would have killed two others a month ago”
One of the perpetrator’s victims spoke about the violent attack he suffered from the 29-year-old on Live News: “He would have killed two others a month ago. All I can tell you is that my hand from the fall and from the kicks and punches hasn’t recovered yet. I had a skull fracture, I had bruises on my eye. It took 15 days for my eye to see again”. For this attack on October 20, the 29-year-old appeared as the victim and even gave television interviews. He conveniently forgot to mention that one day earlier he had beaten a man of Pakistani origin without reason.
Municipal police officer: “He started hitting my colleague in the head”
Additionally, in October 2022 at the Acropolis, he had also attacked municipal police officers. “We stopped them for inspection. We asked for their papers and one of them cursed us saying ‘you’ll get what’s coming to you’. My colleague went to check the license plate and then he jumped up and said ‘I’m a Gypsy, you won’t touch my car or I’ll stab you’. Then he ordered his partner to move the car, he reversed and dragged my colleague. Then he started hitting him in the head and my colleague fell down. Then they got in the car and left. We tried to chase them but couldn’t catch up,” said one of the officers.
The shocking attack at a store in Tavros
According to the same source, in June 2023, the perpetrator destroyed a shipping company branch in Tavros. The reason? Because he didn’t have the receipt to collect his package. The business owner spoke to Live News about the ordeal he experienced. “He got angry about this whole procedure, started arguing with the employee. The girl told him ‘we don’t have these things’ and he went crazy, started cursing the girl with vulgar words. He went to beat the office worker, my son came out and got in between. He took the first punch, beat the other worker without the man even moving, my son got up again to save Christos, then he took another even better punch,” said the owner.
The 29-year-old started hitting anyone he saw in front of him. Things got worse when he tried to pull out a knife. “He got into the passenger seat and bent down to the seat below to get the knife and at that moment I jumped in the air running because I heard he was going to get the knife, now I’m thinking ‘he’s going to slaughter my child’ and I jumped in the air and hit the door but he’s so trained that he turns and puts his knee on the door.”
“I grabbed the door and hit him and said ‘you bastard don’t come out with the knife’, he came out and landed two punches below my cheekbone, because he knew where to hit and at that moment my eldest son, who is also a strong kid, managed to hug him and there we hit him and were saved”. “This is his job to beat people up and then extort them,” says the shipping company owner.
What the father of the second person in the Neos Kosmos attack said
It should be noted that the 29-year-old bully attacked the 58-year-old, throwing 15 punches in 10 seconds. His close friend, who was following him on his motorcycle, saw the 29-year-old beating a man to death and did nothing to stop him. The father, speaking on a Mega show, stated: “I am the father of the second person who was at the incident. The second motorcycle with the silver helmet. The one who caused all this trouble is the white helmet. The first motorcycle which is also my motorcycle.”
He then revealed that when his son started hanging out with the 29-year-old, his behavior changed. “They’ve been hanging out together for a while now. Of course I know him. I know his father too, I also know that this (29-year-old) did transportation, they carried refrigerators and such, scrap dealer, he did scrap dealer work. And my son worked with him too. He lured him, gave him money and that’s why they screwed me over like this… They smashed everything to pieces let me tell you.”
The profile of the 29-year-old thug
“Life for thieves” writes the 20-year-old in a post on his social media profile. In exclusive photos obtained by Live News, his countless tattoos are visible, inspired by Russian criminals as he himself has mentioned. The stars on his knees are a symbol of toughness, that the prisoner “doesn’t kneel to anyone,” doesn’t submit to authorities, gangs or other powerful figures in prison.
