The 22-year-old who choked on a burger in Koropi did not survive and died after seven days of hospitalization. His grandfather emphasized that the young man was not participating in any challenge, but “didn’t chew the last bite properly,” resulting in it getting “stuck in his throat.” “He was and is for us one of the best kids,” he said emotionally.
Koropi: The 22-year-old had come to Athens to say goodbye to his friends
“My grandson came from Kos, where he was working, to Athens to say goodbye to his friends. While they were eating, on the last bite he didn’t chew it properly and choked. Without it being a challenge, without anything. The kid was only hitting himself against the column trying to clear his throat,” the grandfather told SKAI.
The 22-year-old’s father “asked the kids who were in the group and they said it wasn’t a challenge. The only thing I want you to emphasize is not to tarnish his memory, that he did a challenge. The child never did such a thing. He was 22 years old, for us he is 22. And he had three subjects to pass and would have gotten his degree in tourism.”
“He was and is for us one of the best kids. To no one, not even your enemy, do you wish such a thing,” the grandfather concluded emotionally.
