During a surprise inspection by police officers from the Special Traffic Police Unit of the Attica Traffic Police Directorate, a 46-year-old driver of a dump truck was arrested after leaving the highway and dumping solid waste in a forest area in the Schimatari region. Specifically, officers from the Special Traffic Police Unit of the Attica Traffic Police Directorate apprehended the 46-year-old dump truck driver on Wednesday morning, July 2nd, at the 1st kilometer of the Old National Road Schimatari-Chalkida, who after exiting the highway, headed to a forest area where he dumped solid waste.
According to the Greek Police update, the driver was immediately immobilized and taken to the Tanagra Police Station for the formation of a case file against him for violation of environmental protection laws, while the truck in question was confiscated. Similar inspections will continue by traffic control units following this successful operation.
