During a surprise inspection by police officers from the Special Traffic Police Unit of the Attica Traffic Police Directorate, a 46-year-old driver of a dump truck was arrested after leaving the highway and dumping solid waste in a forest area in the Schimatari region. Specifically, officers from the Special Traffic Police Unit of the Attica Traffic Police Directorate apprehended the 46-year-old dump truck driver on Wednesday morning, July 2nd, at the 1st kilometer of the Old National Road Schimatari-Chalkida, who after exiting the highway, headed to a forest area where he dumped solid waste.
According to the Greek Police update, the driver was immediately immobilized and taken to the Tanagra Police Station for the formation of a case file against him for violation of environmental protection laws, while the truck in question was confiscated. Similar inspections will continue by traffic control units following this successful operation.

The identification of the above accused was carried out within the framework of a special operation designed by the Attica Traffic Police Directorate to investigate information regarding trucks carrying waste and heading to this specific forest location to dump it, polluting the environment.
