Today, Monday November 10, the elementary school and kindergarten in Borizia village, Heraklion, Crete, resume operations, marking the first step toward a return to normalcy. According to an announcement by Education Minister Sofia Zacharaki, psychologists and social workers are expected to arrive in the village and will remain for at least 15 days to support the school community and ensure the smooth reintegration of students and teachers into their daily routine.
The situation in Borizia appears to be stabilizing eight days after the deadly clash, although police presence remains strong. Every entry or exit from the village, on foot or by vehicle, is carefully monitored, while all movements are recorded at checkpoints set up at the two entrances. Despite the strict controls, the atmosphere is noticeably calmer compared to previous days.
Police patrols continue within the village to prevent potential incidents, while local life is gradually returning: the coffee shop and two grocery stores have reopened, and residents are once again engaging in their daily activities, primarily agricultural work.
