“Weapons are not meant for people to kill each other, but to defend our homeland when it’s in danger,” he stated characteristically, speaking on the show “Truths with Zina” on Star TV.
Borizia: “As long as we let blood flow, our land grows dark”
The priest, visibly moved, recalled the words he spoke at the funeral:
“As long as we let blood flow, our land grows dark,” he emphasized, pointing out that Crete is not what the vendetta images portray.
“This is not what our Crete is about. Families are wounded by foolish people and the island is exposed. Crete is hospitality, humanity and valor. It’s not valor to take a weapon and kill another person,” he said with emphasis.
Borizia: “This woman was a kind-hearted person”
Referring to the woman who was killed, the priest described her as an exceptional and beloved person.
“She was a kind-hearted person, beloved by everyone, even at the hospital where she worked. I have heard the finest words about her,” he noted.
In closing, he sent a message of peace:
“These things must stop, not only in Crete, but everywhere,” calling on people to leave behind hatred and violence.
