Two individuals fell into the hands of police and were arrested in Thessaloniki for illegal weapons trafficking and illegal possession of firearms. During searches of their homes, authorities discovered various items including revolvers, pistols, air guns, and hunting rifles, as well as ammunition, a crossbow, and swords. The two suspects were arrested following coordinated operations by officers from the Sub-Directorate for Combating Racist and Extremist Violence of the Directorate for Crime Investigation and Detection of Thessaloniki.
The case involves two men aged 62 and 30 years old, against whom, along with a 61-year-old, criminal charges have been filed for violations of weapons laws and drug legislation.
What police discovered
At the suspects’ homes in the Halastra area, authorities found and confiscated 2 revolvers, 2 pistols, 2 blank-firing pistols, 5 air guns and rifles, 13 hunting weapons, 1 carbine, hunting rifle barrels, 1 metal crossbow with scope and three arrows, 5 swords, 15 knives of various types, and 2 improvised spears.
Additionally, investigators discovered numerous magazines and gas cartridges, 430 rounds of ammunition and blank cartridges, more than 4,750 air gun pellets and metal projectiles, 1 vehicle transceiver, 1 cigarette pack containing a small amount of cannabis, and cash totaling €83,015.50.
The arrested individuals, along with the criminal cases filed against them, will be brought before the competent prosecutor.
