Following an incident in an apartment building elevator in Nea Ionia, a 26-year-old man is fighting for his life. The incident began when residents of an apartment building in Nea Ionia heard voices from the stairwell and came out of their apartments. Approaching the elevator door on the second floor, they saw traces of blood. A young man was found on the elevator floor under unknown circumstances, his life hanging by a thread.
Two police officers immediately rushed to the scene after receiving a call from the Emergency Response Center. According to Action24’s report, when the police officers arrived at the location, they found the 26-year-old covered in blood and bearing wounds to his neck from a sharp object.
Nea Ionia: Investigation underway into circumstances of 26-year-old’s condition
The police officers attempted to stop his bleeding until an ambulance arrived at the scene to transport him. The 26-year-old was taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgical intervention and his condition is considered extremely critical.
Regarding the causes, these are being investigated by the authorities, who have not ruled out the possibility of self-harm, nor a dispute with someone else who caused the injuries and fled the scene.
