Confessing today Friday (24/10) is the 18-year-old in Trikala, who killed his mother by strangling her with a bath towel, after requesting and receiving an extension on Wednesday (22/10). He reportedly claimed that he had considered killing his mother in the past as well. It should be noted that he has been charged with premeditated murder.
Crime in Trikala: Today’s confession of the 18-year-old who killed his mother
The 54-year-old woman, according to information, had never given cause for comments or problems in the neighborhood and had divorced her husband 10 years ago. Their 18-year-old son lived with his father, while he visited his mother along with his sister some weekends, as residents of the area report.
The 18-year-old held his mother responsible for the divorce, and as a consequence of this event he reportedly suffered bullying from his classmates. Arguments between mother and son were frequent, however, on Tuesday (21/10), when the crime occurred, there had been no prior tension between them.
Suddenly, while they were watching television together, the 18-year-old got up, went to the bathroom, took a towel, returned to the living room and with complete composure wrapped the towel around his mother’s neck and strangled her.
Trikala: “She neglected me, I had thought before about killing her”
Afterwards, calm and composed, he called the police, confessing his act, and waited for the officers at his mother’s house to arrest him. He reportedly told police that his mother had many partners, that she neglected him and that she abused him psychologically and physically, adding that he had previously considered killing her.
As he reportedly said among other things: “My mother had many partners and this bothered me. She didn’t pay attention to me. She didn’t take care of me. She abused me psychologically and physically.”
The results of the forensic examination
According to the forensic examiner’s findings, traces of blood in the 54-year-old’s eyes and ears testify to the violence of the pressure applied, showing that the young man used excessive force until he caused his mother’s agonizing death.
Furthermore, the forensic examination also revealed the time of death, which is placed just a few minutes before the 18-year-old’s phone call to police saying he had killed his mother.
