Another serious incident of domestic violence occurred on Monday afternoon (June 9) in Heraklion, Crete with a 77-year-old woman as the victim. Specifically, the woman was locked in a room by her own son following a dispute between them, and in her attempt to escape, she managed to break a glass door panel, resulting in injuries. The incident has caused concern among residents and prompted authorities to take action.

According to information from cretapost, everything happened on Monday afternoon (June 9), when a 54-year-old man visited his 77-year-old mother. During his stay at her house, a violent argument broke out, with the 54-year-old grabbing his mother and locking her inside a room, forbidding her from leaving. He then left the house undisturbed.
Subsequently, the unfortunate 77-year-old woman, in a state of shock, attempted various ways to escape. Eventually, she broke a glass panel in order to get out of the room and was injured on her legs by the broken glass. Neighbors heard the elderly woman’s screams of pain and notified the authorities.
Police officers rushed to the scene and helped the unfortunate woman, while they also searched for and arrested the 54-year-old son. Criminal charges have been filed against him for domestic violence, and he is expected to be brought before the competent prosecutor.
