New video footage emerges showing the alleged accomplice in the double murder at a campsite in Foinikunta returning to Athens after the crime. Specifically, in the footage secured by MEGA, the 22-year-old appears relaxed as he arrives at the Kifissos bus terminal. He is captured lighting a cigarette and walking towards the exit. As shown in the documentary video, it is Monday, October 6, 22:15 at night. The bus carrying the accused, now in custody, has just arrived from Kalamata at the Kifissos station. He exits among the first passengers without luggage, carrying only a pack of cigarettes, then leaves the station. He remains extremely calm with a cigarette in his mouth and crosses the pedestrian crossing. From the point captured in the video, he could have gone either to the ticket offices, to the city buses, or to the taxis, as he himself has claimed to have used.

“I arrived in Athens at 22.00 to 22.30, took a taxi and went to a hotel in Pangrati to sleep. The next day in the morning, I walked from Pangrati to the shop where I work, which is located in the center,” he said in his testimony.
With the same ease he walked in Kalamata just before taking the bus to Athens, he disembarks from it three hours later. In the first video, he appears to walk with a strange characteristic in his gait, which however does not seem to be present during his return to Athens.
Foinikunta: “He looked like he was waiting for something”
“The 22-year-old, whom I see on television and is accused as an accomplice, I had seen on the evening of October 6 getting off the bus at Kifissos terminal. I remember he was moving slowly, without going to get a taxi. He was walking without hurrying and looked like he was waiting for something. Like he was waiting for someone to come pick him up,” says an eyewitness.
It’s worth noting that the route of his return remains a mystery to the authorities.
The scenario he supports, that he traveled more than 60 km by swimming and walking, appears not to hold up, with authorities estimating that someone helped him escape and arrive comfortably at the Kalamata bus terminal.
The fact that he had arrived at the terminal 40 minutes before the departure and had time to eat a sandwich and drink coffee shows how well-organized his escape was.
Furthermore, it’s striking that the 22-year-old was anything but experiencing financial difficulties, at least during this two-day period before and after the heinous crime. As Live News reveals, he spent quite a bit of money, all in cash. “I was desperate, without money and nowhere to stay. Then I thought of threatening him that I would reveal that he rapes boys,” he had said.
However, he had the financial means to take a taxi, go pick up his accomplice from his house and go to the point where they would take the scooter. He had the money to pay for a hotel in Kalamata for their overnight stay which reportedly cost 100 euros, and to pay for fuel for the Athens-Foinikunta trip.
Besides cigarettes and energy drinks he treated his 22-year-old co-accused to, upon his return he paid for the coffee he drank with a 50-euro note.
“He was quiet and modest. He pulled out a 50-euro note and gave it to me, it wasn’t crumpled, it was in very good condition,” reports an employee of KTEL Messinia, while according to the same information, he also paid for his bus ticket in cash.
