The unknown perpetrators who placed an explosive-incendiary device at the entrance of the Jumbo store in Marousi at midnight Tuesday to Wednesday had the freedom to move and act without anyone noticing them. The location on Andreas Papandreou Street allowed them to carry out their plan as they wished, passing unnoticed. However, authorities investigating the case are gradually connecting the pieces, as according to information, they have video footage from the attack at their disposal.

Another “hit” on a store of the same toy and household goods chain, which occurred in the early morning hours of October 14th, shows several similarities. The incident had occurred at the Kolonos store and officials from the Anti-Racist and Extremist Violence Unit (YARЕВ), according to parapolitika.gr sources, do not rule out the possibility that these two “hits” are connected. Officers from the State Protection and Democratic System Department estimate that it is still too early to reach this conclusion and are examining all the evidence that has emerged.
Marousi: After extinguishing the Jumbo fire, remnants of gas canister, flammable liquid and fuses were found
It should be noted that after the small fire in Marousi was extinguished by 18 firefighters with 7 vehicles, remnants of a gas canister, a bottle with flammable liquid as well as fuses were found at the scene. The objects were collected by police and sent for relevant tests. Similar objects had been found in the Kolonos incident. Police officers remain cautious about what the future holds given that no claim of responsibility has emerged from any known or unknown organization for the two “hits” or even for each one separately.
For the record, it should be noted that the explosion that occurred at the Amaroussion store caused a fire, which burned a life-size plastic toy replica, while causing blackening on the glass panel of the store entrance as well as on the lower part of the canopy also at the entrance.
