Shocking video footage has emerged showing the first moments after the fatal hit-and-run of an 85-year-old woman in Paleo Faliro. The deadly traffic accident occurred on Monday afternoon (20/10) at 7:30 PM on Amfitheas Avenue, when under circumstances still being investigated, a vehicle driven by a 60-year-old woman struck the 85-year-old pedestrian, who was returning from shopping with a friend.

In video footage obtained by ANT1, the 85-year-old victim can be seen lying on the ground in the middle of Amfitheas Avenue, just minutes after being struck by the car driven by the 60-year-old woman.
Witness testimony: “The impact must have been very strong”
According to testimony from a local resident: “We heard a loud thud. We rushed outside. We found a woman on the ground. The impact must have been very strong. She had been thrown into the air, apparently trying to cross the road. We didn’t even hear any braking.”
The elderly woman was rushed to Laiko Hospital in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
