A collision between trucks in the Neos Kosmos area of Athens became the trigger for knives to be drawn. Indeed, from the brawl that followed, three people needed to be taken to the hospital and receive first aid.
Neos Kosmos: Man pulls knife over minor traffic accident
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, when near the intersection of Baknaná and Machis Analatou streets, a truck collided lightly with another parked truck.
The driver of the second truck, a 29-year-old Albanian man, became enraged and got out of the vehicle with violent intentions. Insults followed and tensions reached boiling point. The 29-year-old then pulled out a knife and lightly wounded three men in the face. The 52-year-old driver of the other truck, of Greek origin, his 63-year-old passenger of Nigerian origin, as well as a 56-year-old Albanian man.
Four arrests made
The immediate response unit arrived at the scene and arrested all of the above, as well as the 60-year-old father of the knife attacker.
Criminal charges were filed against those involved for various offenses including causing bodily harm, threats, insults and violation of weapons laws. The three victims were taken to Thriasio Hospital where they required stitches. The preliminary investigation has been undertaken by the Acropolis Police Station.
